I just finished moving the pigs back onto my land after spending a few weeks on the other 5 acres I'm renting. In the meantime, the clover that I planted last year has really filled in. I'd say it's on average over 50% of the total plant cover of the entire pasture.
There's clearly still other stuff there--perennial rye grass, horsetail, some buttercup--but the clover is now the dominant cover, and it's still on the increase. There are lots of flowers, but still lots of smaller plants that are growing and spreading.
After the pigs finished up their morning feed ration, they moved on immediately to voraciously grazing the clover.
Three generations of pigs, all enjoying the fruits of my hard work and investment, makes me happy.
