The last two litters of the Berkshire gilt I got last year have had 1 piglet with a lump on the back hindquarter. The lump is not a solid mass, but more like a fluid-filled sac. Pictures are below. The lump on the first pig went disappeared after a few weeks. Anyone know what this is or run into it before?

Infected abcess. Probably a pus-filled cavity just under the skin. pigs get it when another pig bites them and it gets infected. lancing it to drain it and then a shot of broad spectrum antibiotic will cure it. don't let it stay; it'll damage the hams appearance.
