Water water everywhere

It seems like you either have too much water or not enough, or even both at the same time. The pasture we're renting was described to me as the "swamp pasture" and this winter has shown me why. Parts of the pasture have been underwater all winter, and on days like today when the river is high, the pond is even larger. Parts of the pasture (where we put the garden, for instance) have benefited from the proximity to the creek by having deep, relatively well drained soils, but other parts are practically modeling clay.

The standing water will be gone by summer, which means I need to get water to the animals on pasture. The pasture is rectangular, and about 1300 feet on the long side. I've run a water line all the way from the nearest spigot to the end of the pasture, putting access points every 100 feet.  So far, the system is working well, allowing me to keep the pig's automatic waterer hooked up. I'm a bit worried about the sun heating up the hose in the summer, but I'll burn that bridge when I get there
